Orientation did nothing to calm my nerves, but hey, made friends. It's really disheartening to hear that 25% of student drop out before the end of the degree and that 85% of students has to resit for the Math exam. When will educators realize instilling fear in students' heart is not the best way to motivate them to study. How about motivating us to like the subject instead? Maybe it's a tactic to weed out the weak, so they get so pressured that they quit.

I'm so scared that I will fail. I haven't started but I already feel like backing out.

But no, I will not. I think it's time to have a new mind set. I cannot keep sabotaging myself anymore, I have to continue even if it kills me. I will study hard and do the best I can, I can't let myself down anymore.

Other than that, the seniors were really friendly and sincere. Feels like they actually want us to do well. Had fun with Group 7, everyone got along and was really funny.

Had to do the First Impression game, where you tape a piece of paper to our back and people anonymously write their first impressions of you.

Here's mine:

I am super flattered that someone wrote 'classy', 'sexy' and "I see you I HOT LIAO!", even though it was a joke, it totally made my day. Says something about my self-esteem level, doesn't it? Also 'Sporty' made me laugh out loud, and 'Infectious laughter' was super sweet.

I hope I will have a great time in this school.
